Lawsuit Demands Preventing Constructing Cell Phones Networks Near Antiquities

Lawyer Ali Ayoub filed a lawsuit before the administrative judiciary court; calling for issuing a verdict that overturns the decision of the Standing Committee for Egyptian Antiquities, which allows constructing towers for cell phones network in Sakkar, 150 meters far from archeological Haram City.

It is known that this archeological site is rich with scarce graves which considered as the oldest in the world.

The lawsuit pointed out that constructing towers need building deep concrete bases.

The lawsuit elaborated that before building these towers, it had to take procedures in order to make sure of emptying the district from antiquities and graves.

The lawsuit concluded that the decision violates the laws and distinguished with deviating from power.
