Less than 50 coronavirus patients in Egypt put on ventilators – Cabinet spokesperson

Less than 50 coronavirus patients in Egypt are currently put on ventilators, Egyptian Cabinet’s spokesperson on Thursday.

In a telephone interview with a TV show aired on MBC Masr, Nader Saad said there are 4,000 ventilators available across the country’s hospitals.

The total number of coronavirus patients in intensive care rooms are 250, Saad said.

The coronavirus death rates in Egypt are below the global average, he added.

To date, the total number of coronavirus cases in Egypt is 15,003, including 696 fatalities and 4,217 recoveries, and on Thursday the country saw its biggest rise in daily cases so far of 774.
