Libya, Egypt To Form Joint Commission To Extradite Pro-Gaddafi Elements In Egypt

Libya and Egypt are to set up a joint commission with the sole aim to coordinate the extradition of pro-Gaddafi elements who are currently taking refuge in Egypt.

The commission will be chaired by both the Libyan and Egyptian Attorney Generals.

The commission will review Libyan requests of extradition of each case on the basis of bilateral agreements and international law.

After meeting the President of the National Congress of Libya in Cairo on Thursday, the Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi said that both countries fully agree on going ahead with extradition procedures of pro-Gaddafi criminals who must face justice in Libya.

The meetings in Cairo were attended by the Libyan General Attorney Abdulaziz Al-Hasairy and the Deputy Minister of Justice.
