London anti-Daesh Meeting shows Consensus on Egypt’s Role in Fighting Terrorism

The meeting of the international coalition to combat Daesh terrorism that was held in London on Thursday 23/1/2015 revealed a consensus by the attending members on the importance of Egypt’s role in facing terrorism and formulating an international strategy to refute the criminal ideologies of this group, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Badr Abdul Atti said.

The meeting stressed the pioneering role of Al Azhar institution in promoting the moderate principles of Islam, he said.

The spokesman noted that Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry entrusted him to lead Egypt’s delegation to the meeting where he presented Egypt’s vision on combating terrorism and terrorist organizations.

He stressed that the Islamic and Western worlds should bear the joint responsibility of combating the extremist ideas.
