Malaysia’s producer price index falls to 1.3% in July

Malaysia’s producer price index (PPI), which measures price changes of goods at the producer level, eased to 1.3 per cent in July compared to 1.6 per cent in June, official data from Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) showed on Wednesday.

The agriculture, forestry and fishing sector went up 3.4 per cent, while the mining and manufacturing sector edged up 2.2 per cent and 0.9 per cent, respectively.

Meanwhile, the index of water supply, and electricity and gas supply increased nine percent and 0.3 per cent, respectively.
