Merkel Invites Egypt’s Sisi to Visit Germany

German Chancellor Angela Merkel invited on Monday 8/9/2014 President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to visit Germany to boost bilateral relations, especially in the economic field.

During a phone call with the President, Merkel hailed relations with Egypt and expressed her keenness to take them to a higher level.

She also lauded the Egyptian-brokered Gaza ceasefire deal.

For his part, Sisi reviewed the current domestic situation and the upcoming House of Representatives elections, scheduled later this year.

The President also touched on a number of regional issues, mainly combating terrorism and eliminating terrorist groups.
