Michael Jackson’s Daughter Hospitalized After Suicide Attempt

Michael Jackson’s teenage daughter Paris was hospitalized in California early Wednesday morning following a suicide attempt.

The 15-year-old cut her arm with a meat cleaver and left a suicide note, TMZ reports.

Her mother, Debbie Rowe, who was married to Jackson from 1996 to 1999, confirmed to ET that Paris — the late singer’s middle child — had tried to kill herself, saying “she has had a lot going on.”

The Los Angeles County Fire Department reported to FOX 411 that emergency personnel went to a home in Calabasas for a medical rescue around 1:30 a.m.

However, reports are conflicted about the nature of the emergency. According to the fire department, “we responded to a call of an overdose. That’s the kind of call we got.”

But other reports claim Jackson slit her wrists.

Earlier on Wednesday, before she was hospitalized, Jackson was on Twitter, tweeting things like “yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away now it looks as though they’re here to stay.” She also wrote: “I wonder why tears are salty?”

An unnamed source close to the family said the girl allegedly attempted suicide because she wasn’t going to be allowed to go to a Marilyn Manson concert on Thursday.

Other sources, though, said the teenager is “going to be OK” and stopped short of calling her actions a suicide attempt, while suggesting that it might be “a cry for help,” CNN reports.

Jackson and her grandmother, Katherine Jackson, along with brothers Prince, 16, and Blanket, 11, are currently involved in a lawsuit against AEG Live, claiming it was liable for Michael Jackson’s drug overdose death on June 25, 2009.

Paris and Prince Jackson are scheduled to testify in the wrongful death trial later this month, and both teens have been questioned by AEG lawyers in depositions.

Paris and her brothers lived a weird secretive life before their father’s death. The ‘Thriller’ singer insisted they wore masks in public to avoid being recognized. They were hardly seen until his funeral when Paris gave a moving eulogy despite being only 11 years old.
