Minister of Manpower Follows Daily Report of Workers’ Protests

Minister of Manpower and Immigration Khaled Al Azhary called on the concerned sector in the ministry to prepare daily report around the protests and workers’ strikes.

The minister elaborated that the report will be prepared by receiving daily communiqués from the directorates of manpower and immigration in Egypt; including the workers protests, strikes, hunger strike or sit-in. the report will include the reasons of the strike or sit-in, the number of workers or protesters, the actual number of the workers, and the procedures the directorate took towards the protests, as well the suggested solutions.

The reports during the first week monitored 10 protests and strikes in Cairo, Alexandria, Damietta, Menufia, Qena and Port Said. Three of them have been solved, while coordination between other companies and workers are being followed up for finding solutions.
