Misr Insurance Not Set On Fire, NBE Was The Target

Misr Insurance Company was not set on fire as some websites reported, said Ahmed Khattab, member of the board of directors of the company.

An ATM of the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) was broken near Misr Insurance Holding which led to some damages to the glass entrance of the company.

All the company’s branches are working during the regular working hours except for branches in Ismailia, Port Said and Suez because of the violent clashes that erupted in these governorates.

Khaled El-Mallah, general manager of research, development and international relations at Insurance Holding Company, stated that some thugs tried to break an ATM near the company to steal it.

The thugs thought that the building of the company is subsidiary to the bank, so they broke the glass of the entrance. The company’s security officers tried to detain them, but they fled. He denied that the company was set on fire, affirming that the company is working normally now.

Kassem Nassar, deputy chairman of Misr Life Insurance Company for financial and administrative affairs, confirmed that the company was not harmed during the current events, adding that the company’s employees are working regularly as Talaat Harb Street does witness clashes nor turmoil.
