Mohamed El-Zawahiri’s henchman captured

Egyptian security in Cairo captured on Sunday Daoud Khairat, henchman of the Salafist Jihadist group leader Mohamed El-Zawahiri, after the criminal investigation department received information that Khairat resided in an apartment in Nasr City, Ahram Arabic website reports.

Khairat was moved to Tora Prison pending investigation based on inquiries allegedly linking him to providing arms to the recently dispersed Rabaa El-Adaweya pro-Morsi protest camp as well as other charges.

Mohamed El-Zawahiri was detained at a checkpoint in Giza on 17 August.
