NBE Denies Attempted Attack On Masr Al-Qadima’s Branch

Sources at the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) denied what was announced by the Ministry of Interior on Tuesday that masked men attempted to storm the bank’s branch in Masr al-Qadima today. Sources affirmed that the employees at the bank did not hear any voice of gunfire outside.

NBE’s branches are totally guarded by surveillance cameras and guards of police officers and private security guards, sources confirmed.

It is worth mentioning that Masr al-Qadima Police Station was informed that a number of masked men attempted to break into the National Bank of Egypt’s branch in Masr al-Qadima. Mahmoud Ahmed Abul Ezz Nassef, chief of Masr al-Qadima Patrol, and a number of police officers went there, but the masked men escaped. The police officer suspected a Suzuki car and when he approached, one of them shot him dead and then they ran away.

The car was seized by the police and the public prosecution was notified to start investigations.
