NCHR Deputy Head Calls For Social Market Economy

Abdel Ghaffar Shokr, deputy chairman of the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR), affirmed the importance of implementing mechanisms of social market economy which will achieve social justice by ensuring the safety of workers, maximizing their role in management and production processes and offering them fair wages and incentives which shall not be less than EGP 1200 monthly.

On the sidelines of the Political Decision-Making Process Conference, Shokr said the former regime’s practices have raised unemployment rates and resulted in economic breakdown.

He noted that the working class has played a great role in economic decision-making process as they held many protests in the last two years against wrong political practices.

Workers’ representatives call on the government to adopt new policies based on local capital investments and human employment to help the country be more independent from foreign countries, he added.
