Nigerian chef seeks world record after 100 hours of nonstop cooking

Nigerian chef, Hilda Bassey is now seeking a world record after spending 100 hours preparing meals non-stop, as she looking to beat a Guinness World Record for the longest ever cooking session by an individual.

Bassey has been cooking since the last Thursday when she started and ended on Monday night. President Muhammadu Buhari and several politicians along with celebrities congratulated Bassey.

Cheering supporters camped outside the events center to watch the 27-year-old chef preparing a mix of local and foreign dishes.

The longest cooking record currently is held by Indian chef Lata Tondon, who set a record of 87 hours and 45 minutes in 2019.

Bassey’s time, however, will need to be certified by Guinness World Record officials before it can be considered official.
