Egypt plans to offer next April a tender for international companies to explore for gas and oil in Upper Egypt, the country’s petroleum minister announced on Sunday.
Egypt’s Petroleum Minister Eng. Sherif Ismail said his country is seeking to allure more foreign investments in gas and oil exploration activities in Upper Egypt through inviting international firms for exploration tenders in favour of state-owned Ganoub El Wadi Petroleum Holding Company (Ganope).
The Egyptian minister also stated that the development of upper Egypt is a main priority of the Egyptian government in general and his ministry in particular.
