Orange Egypt Q3 revenues grow to €226 million

Orange Egypt announced on Sunday that it had generated revenues worth €226 million approximately ($267.5 million or 4.2 billion Egyptian pounds) for the third quarter of the year.

Last year, the subsidiary of French telecoms group Orange saw third quarter revenues worth €209 million (3.9 billion pounds).

Revenues for the first nine months of 2020 also rose to €666 million approximately (12.3 billion pounds), compared with €621 million in the same period last year.

Orange Egypt has nearly 27.7 million mobile users in the country, while the number of fixed broadband customers reached around 385,000, according to latest indicators by the parent company.

In Late October, French telecommunications operator Orange Group announced that it returned to revenue growth in the third quarter despite the impact of the coronavirus crisis.

For the third quarter, Group revenues were €10.58 billion, up 0.8 percent on a comparable basis and also up 0.1 percent on a historical basis.

The company explained that the growth was driven by the momentum in services, in particular wholesale services due to the co-financing of the fibre network in France and convergent services which rose 5.7 percent and 1.5 percent respectively.
