Representatives of the three mobile operators Vodafone, Orange and Etisalat are meeting Monday with Egypt’s telecoms regulator to discuss financial and legal terms to issue 4G licences.
Egyptian government said earlier it plans to offer the 4G licences in the coming period.
Representatives will meet with Mustafa Abdul Wahid, Acting Executive President of the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA).
The Cabinet has previously agreed on authorizing NTRA to prepare the 4G licences including the necessary financial, technical, and regulatory obligations, according to the rules in force and stipulated in the Telecommunications Regulatory Law No. 10 of 2003.
Launching the 4G license comes within the framework of the government’s ICT development plan to improve the quality of telecommunications and internet services provided to citizens and maximise investments and treasury returns.
