Orascom Construction to build $101 million Hotel in US

Egypt’s Orascom Construction (OC) said Thursday the Weitz Company,a wholly-owned subsidiary, has been selected to build the Iowa Events Center Hotel for a total project value of $101 million.

The project, which will be located in Des Moines, Iowa, will include a build-out of a 331-room convention hotel and connect the hotel to the Iowa Events Center, a multi-venue convention center and entertainment complex, said a company’s statement.

“Weitz is excited to lead another project integral to the development of the greater Des Moines area. We have already worked extensively on the existing facility and look forward to securing further sizeable projects across our core competencies”, said Len Martling, President & CEO of Weitz.
