Pakistan’s inflation drops in August ’24

Pakistan’s inflation fell to 9.6 per cent in August, down from 11.1 per cent in the previous month, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Monday.

On a monthly basis, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) reached 0.4 per cent in August 2024, compared to a 2.1 per cent in the previous month.

Core inflation, excluding food and energy prices, hit 10.2 per cent year-on-year in August 2024, against 11.7 per cent increase in the previous month, according to the report.
