Pizza chain Papa John’s announces development deal to expand in Egypt

Papa John’s International, Inc. (NASDAQ:PZZA), announced Friday that it would continue its expansion in Egypt with the signing of a restaurant development agreement.

Vanatge Egypt, for Tourism and Entertainment (Vantage), a Papa John’s franchisee for the past 10 years, recently entered into a development agreement to inaugurate an additional 18 units. Vantage currently operates 36 Papa John’s restaurants throughout Egypt.

“We’re excited to partner with Papa John’s once again to grow the BETTER INGREDIENTS. BETTER PIZZA. brand in Egypt,” said Ashraf Galal, Managing Director of Vantage Egypt, for Tourism and Entertainment.

“Vantage Egypt is one of our best success stories in the Middle East and we are proud of their growth,” said Tim O’Hern, Senior Vice President & Chief Development Officer. “We look forward to working with Vantage Egypt as we expand the brand into new cities in Egypt.”

Papa John’s International is currently looking for potential franchisees in parts of France, as well as Poland, Germany, Ukraine, Czech Republic and Belgium.
