Prime Minister Orders A Daily, Weekly Price Watch Report By CAPMAS

Abu Bakr El-Gendy, Head of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization And Statistics (CAPMAS) declared that the agency is working on preparing a daily and weekly list of changes in prices of goods which have an impact on people’s life to be presented to the prime minister in details.

El-Gendy added that the CAPMAS noticed some changes in prices after fuel subsides were partially lifted and that 50% of the changes the CAPMAS noticed where justified.

He added that a meeting was held with Ibrahim Mehlab, Egypt’s prime minister, who ordered the CAPMAS to follow the changes in prices and to prepare a daily report which will be presented to the prime minister and will include the product with a rapid rate of change like vegetables and fruits.

The weekly report will include products which needs time to change like food, meat, and poultry products.
