Prosecutor General Refers Complaint Against French President Over Anti-Islam Paintings

Egypt’s Prosecutor General Abdel Meguid Mahmoud referred the complaint filed by Attorney Fathy Gad El Rab to the State Security Prosecution. The complaint is filed against the French President Francois Hollande as well the French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius for Islam contempt, through publishing paintings against Prophet Mohamed on a French magazine.

The complainant, in his complaint no. 3530/2012, criminalized the anti-Islam paintings according to the Egyptian Panel Code; calling on the prosecutor general to penalize the accused who published these paintings.
