The Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Dr. Salah Abdel Momin, has announced that Egypt will reclaim some million acres in the forthcoming period in order to build new communities in certain areas.
In a statement to the US channel (CNN), Abdel Momin confirmed that more effort should be exerted to improve the malpractice of the agricultural resources in Egypt during the former regime. On the other hand, he expressed his optimism over the future.
The minister emphasized that the government has wide areas of lands that have been reclaimed recently; referring that the Ministry of Agriculture’s short-term plan aims at determining a limit for importing wheat, especially Egypt is the biggest country that imports wheat.
