Remittances from Egyptians abroad rise 43% in May – c.bank

Egypt’s remittances from Egyptians working abroad rose 43 percent month-on-month in May to around $3 billion, the central bank said on Tuesday in a statement.

The remittances, one of the country’s main sources of hard currency, stood at $2.1 billion in April.

Egypt received $2.6 billion in remittances in May 2018, the statement added.
