Russia open to US energy cooperation despite sanctions – Novak
Russia remains open to cooperation with the United States in the energy sector, according to Russian Prime Minister Alexander Novak in an interview with Al Arabiya TV.
Novak emphasised that Russia did not sever ties, pointing out that it was the US that banned Russian energy supplies.
Novak acknowledged uncertainty regarding future US policy, even if Donald Trump returns to the presidency, noting that Russia will have to adapt to global energy dynamics regardless of the US stance.
Energy collaboration between the two countries has been halted due to US sanctions, which include restrictions on investment and technological support for Russian Arctic exploration projects.
