Russia and Egypt are to sign a protocol on a new satellite for remote sensing before the end of 2015, the Russian news agency RIA Novosti media quoted the president of Rocket and Space Corporation (RSC) Energia, Vladimir Solntsev, as saying Wednesday.
The satellite will be launched within three years, according to Solntsev.
He added that the two countries will soon coordinate matters related to the size of the satellite and its standards, and if the project succeeds a third satellite could be launched.
Egypt launched its first Energia-produced satellite in April 2014.
