South Korea’s composite business sentiment index (CBSI) for all industries declined by 2.6 points to 92.5 in August, following a 0.6-point drop in the previous month, according to central bank data released on Wednesday.
The CBSI for manufacturers fell by 2.9 points to 92.8, while the index for non-manufacturers dropped by 2.4 points to 92.2. The survey included 1,845 manufacturers and 1,447 non-manufacturers and conducted from August 6 to 13.
The Economic Sentiment Index (ESI), a composite of the CBSI and the Consumer Survey Index (CSI), for August 2024 declined 1.7 points to 94.2, as per the bank’s statement.
