SAFE To Hold Annual Meeting In Egypt: EGX

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) announced on Sunday that the South Asian Federation of Exchanges (SAFE) has decided to hold its annual general meeting in Egypt at the beginning of December as a sideline to the16th Annual General Meeting and Flagship Conference of the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA).

EGX Chairman Mohamed Omran told MENA that SAFE’s decision to hold its annual general meeting in Egypt in recognition of the Egyptian bourse’s vital role after the revolution.

SAFE is a forum of 34 member entities from the SAARC Region Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka) as well as Kazakhstan, Mauritius and UAE; providing them a platform to share, exchange and promote the technologies, experiences for the rapid growth and development of capital market and work towards the regional as well as global integration.

 The EGX will be hosting the 16th Annual General Meeting and Flagship Conference of the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA) for the year 2012 held in Cairo between 2-4 December 2012.
