Samsung Egypt shuts Beni Suef plant as 4 workers infected with coronavirus
Samsung Egypt has discovered four coronavirus cases in its Beni Suef factory which lead to closing the premises and taking all the precautionary measures of sterilisng and quarantine, according to a source with knowledge.
The source told Amwal Al Ghad that the that the first case of coronavirus was for a worker came in contact with a virus carrier where he lives, and then he transmitted it transmitted to 3 other in the plant.
He also pointed closing the plant would affect the volume of its production and that the Samsung’s factory around six million devices annually and thousands of TV sets.
80 percent of the production is exported abroad, as Samsung production lines in Egypt cover more than 37 markets in the Middle East and Africa, he also noted.
Samsung is one of the largest exporters of electronic devices in Egypt, he also added, highlighting that its Beni Suef plant is considered one of the most important five plants owned by the mother company across the world.
