Shanghai Safbon braces for $200 mln recycling plant in Egypt

Shanghai Safbon Water Service Company Limited is planning to establish a recycling plant worth $200 million in Egypt.

The plant will locate in Kafr el-Sheikh, about 134 km (83 miles) north of Cairo, with a capacity of 1,500 tonnes.

These remarks were made following a meeting in Cairo on Wednesday between Egyptian Ministry of Investment and representatives of Safbon in the presence of officials in Ministry of Electricity and Kafr el-Sheikh governor.

Earlier in July, delegation from Safbon visited Egypt and met with Minister of Investment Dalia Khorshed to discuss the Chinese group’s plans to carry out four projects worth $1 billion on desalination and waste recycling within a four-year timeframe.

The group plans to carry out projects in Kafr el-Sheikh, Faiyum, and Cairo.

This will be the group’s first investment in the Middle East region.

Shanghai Safbon Water Service Company Limited sells system integration equipment, and provides related technical services, installation, and construction services to water treatment system.
