Egyptian Shoukry heads to Jordan to discuss Palestinian issue

Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry headed to Jordan on Sunday to discuss updates regarding the Palestinian issue with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Al-Safadi.

Ways of reviving peace efforts in the Middle East will also be part of both ministers’ discussions.

The visit comes within the framework of ongoing coordination and consultation between the two countries on the latest developments in the Palestinian issue and ways to support the peace process in the Middle East.

Egypt and Jordan agreed on the importance of pushing forward efforts for a final and just settlement of the Palestinian issue and the need to encourage the Palestinian and Israeli sides to resume negotiations and reach a final and just solution to the issue.

Shoukry headed to Israel in July and discussed the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, bilateral relations, and regional issues with Israeli officials.

In March, the Arab Summit was held in Jordan in attendance of Arab leaders to follow up on regional crises.
