Sisi calls for transforming AOI into industrial integration platform

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi called for transforming the Arab Organisation for Industrialization (AOI) into a platform for industrial integration, bringing together advanced manufacturing capabilities, private-sector expertise, and foreign investments and partnerships.

During a meeting on Wednesday with AOI Chairman Mohamed Abdel Fattah Abu Bakr, Sisi reviewed the organisation’s development strategy, including plans to expand the manufacturing and technological capabilities of its factories and its activities across civilian and military sectors.

Abu Bakr presented examples of the AOI’s efforts to localise advanced manufacturing technologies in new industrial fields, meet industrial sectors’ needs in line with international quality standards, and open new export markets as part of Egypt Vision 2030.

He also highlighted the organisation’s participation in development projects across several African countries and its role in implementing strategic projects related to public transport, freight transportation, and light transport.

The AOI is also working to expand partnerships with the private sector and major international companies and attract industrial investments.

Sisi directed continued efforts to deepen local manufacturing, localise technology, attract domestic and foreign investments, support national industry, boost exports, expand production, strengthen private-sector partnerships, and improve the business climate.
