Sisi inaugurates EGYPES 2025 with high-level global participation

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2025) in Cairo, on Monday, under his esteemed patronage. The event gathered over 47,000 industry stakeholders, including heads of state, ministers, and CEOs, to address key issues in energy investment, sustainability, and regional cooperation.

Key Agreements to Enhance Regional Energy Cooperation

Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides joined President Sisi for the opening ceremony, where several landmark agreements were signed. These included the Cronos Project Host Government Agreement and the Aphrodite Natural Gas MoU between Egypt and Cyprus. Additionally, an Egypt-Saudi Executive Plan for Energy Efficiency and a major renewable energy contract were concluded, underscoring the commitment to cross-border collaboration in energy security and sustainability.

Strategic Insights from Energy Leaders

During the event, Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum Karim Badawi presented Egypt’s vision for energy security and decarbonisation. Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, emphasised the importance of regional cooperation. Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi highlighted Egypt’s pivotal role in global energy markets, while Apache CEO John Christmann reaffirmed the company’s strong commitment to Egypt’s energy sector.

Exhibition Showcases Innovation in Energy

The EGYPES 2025 Global Exhibition features over 500 exhibitors from more than 120 countries, with 40 national and international oil companies showcasing the latest innovations in energy. Notable zones include the Future Energy Zone and the Start-Up Pavilion, focusing on renewable technologies and decarbonization solutions.

Strategic Conference and Technical Sessions

The EGYPES 2025 Strategic Conference brings together ministers and executives from Egypt, Cyprus, Greece, Tunisia, Nigeria, Yemen, and the African Union to discuss critical issues such as energy security and emissions reduction. The Technical Conference covers topics like carbon capture, AI-driven innovations, and energy storage, while the CLIMATECH Challenge awards highlight clean energy start-ups making significant strides in sustainability.

Networking and Exclusive Industry Experiences

The event also provides exceptional networking opportunities through the EGYPES Energy Club and the Young Professionals Programme. The Energy Awards and Gala Dinner celebrate industry excellence, while facilitating discussions among high-level policymakers and executives.
