Sisi orders shelter camps for Libya flood survivors

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has ordered the authorities to create shelter camps for in survivors of devastating floods in neighboring Libya, said official spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy, on Wednesday.

These camps which will be in the western coastal region of Egypt, aim to provide shelter for Libyan citizens who have lost their homes as a result of recent hurricanes and floods which wreaked chaos across in the country, Fahmy added.

The Egyptian military dispatched three cargo planes to Libya, carrying search and rescue teams, as well as vital aid items such as medical supplies and tents, as confirmed by the army’s spokesperson on Tuesday.

It is worth mentioning that the president al-Sisi has directed the military to “provide immediate support and humanitarian relief, by air and by sea, to the brothers in Libya and Morocco.”
