Sisi to host China’s Xi in Egypt to deepen strategic ties

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will host Chinese President Xi Jinping in Cairo on Tuesday for talks on strengthening political, economic, and development cooperation between the two countries.

The two leaders will also review progress under the comprehensive strategic partnership between Egypt and China, established in 2014, the Egyptian presidency’s spokesperson said.

Sisi and Xi are expected to discuss ways to expand bilateral cooperation and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, the spokesperson added.

The visit comes as Egypt seeks to deepen economic cooperation with China and attract further Chinese investment and development projects.
