The number of mobile subscribers in Egypt reached 91.35 million by the end of last May, with a prevalence rate of 111.6% of the population in Egypt, recording a slight decrease in growth rates with 0.75 %, according to a report from the Ministry of Communications.
The report stated that the number of internet users in Egypt dived by 0.19%, compared to April, reaching 30.82 million users by the end of last May and 37.65 % of internet subscribers. The report added that the number of houses which have access to the internet is 39.75%, with an annual growth rate of 6.89%.
In addition, the percentage of mobile subscribers via broadband internet amounted to 90%, while USB Modem 2.52 subscribers reached one million.
The percentage of land line subscribers dropped, recording a monthly decline of about 0.24 %. The number of subscribers reached 8.62 million, including 87% home subscribers, 11% commercial sector, and 2% governmental sector.
Concerning the postal sector, the number of offices reached 3793 serving 21.5 thousand people, including 4.72 million pensioners, recording a monthly decline of about % 2.28, while the remittances increased to 801 thousands in one month, achieving an annual growth of 31.3%.
