Spain’s daily coronavirus death toll falls below 100 for first time in two months

Spain’s daily coronavirus death toll reached 82 on Sunday, down from 102 on Saturday, according to the country’s health ministry statement, making it the first time the death count fell to single digits in two months.
Spain started easing lockdown restrictions for a majority of the country in early May as part of a phased reopening plan.
Spain’s total fatalities are now at 27,650, while confirmed cases rose by less than 1000 over the past 24 hours to 231,350 from 230,698. Spain remains in the top five countries hardest-hit by the coronavirus globally in terms of number of cases and deaths.
