Syrian Investments Will Boost Egypt’s Exports Of Garments To EGP20 bln

Syrian businessman Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Vice-Chairman of the Syrian Company for Plastic Fabrics, expects that Egypt’s exports of ready-made garments could amount to EGP 20 billion annually, especially after operating the Syrian investments in Egypt in the field of textile during the coming period.

Abdel Aziz, in his statement to “Amwal Al Ghad”, criticized the current level of the value of the Egyptian ready-made garments exports; emphasizing that the current level is EGP 10 billion annually, which doesn’t suit the Egyptian capabilities available in the field of textile industry that can make it leading in this industry.

The Syrian investor also anticipates that the Egyptian exports of ready-made garments will increase with the start of the first batch of the Syrian investments during the coming 18 months.
