T. Roosevelt arrives in Egypt’s Alexandria Port for 1st time

Egypt’s General Authority for Alexandria Port received on Sunday CMA CGM Theodore Roosevelt container ship (T. Roosevelt) for the first time, which is the largest container ship received by the port, a cabinet statement said on Sunday.

CMA CGM T. Roosevelt is a container Ship and is sailing under the flag of Malta.Its identification number is IMO 9780873. The container’s overall length (LOA) is 365.96 metres and its width reaches 48.2 metres.

The ship stabilised at the multi-purpose station Tahya Misr, one of the most important projects implemented by the Ministry of Transport in the field of maritime transport and was inaugurated by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in June 2023, the statement added.

The station includes trading yards established on a half million square metres. The area is divided into three handling stations (containers – general goods – vehicles). The cost of developing the port amounted to about 60 billion Egyptian pounds.
