Telecom Egypt, Lumen sign agreement to provide internet services in Egypt

Telecom Egypt has signed on Monday an agreement with the American company Lumen Technologies to establish the first regional focal point in order to provide internet services for telecommunications companies in Egypt, Africa, Asia and Middle East.

Lumen’s focal point in Egypt is the first of its kind in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, making it a distinct step in improving the efficiency and quality of Internet services there.

The agreement came during the visit of CEO of Telecom Egypt, Adel Hamed with regional CEO of Lumen at the company’s headquarter in London.

During the visit, the two companies had discussed their joint cooperation in the Arab region, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

The service is expected to begin delivered in Q1 of 2023, as LUMEN’s choice for Telecom company reflects the great confidence in the advanced infrastructure that the company had.

Telecom Egypt has the Regional Data Center includes RDH in the smart village, which is linked to 14 nautical cables and will reach 18 nautical cables by 2025 that span over 140 landing points in more than 60 countries around the world.

Lumen Technologies offers communications, network services, security, cloud solutions, voice, and managed services.
