Telecom Egypt, the state’s fixed-line monopoly, has signed Wednesday two agreements with Etisalat Misr as part of its preparations to launch mobile services.
As for the first agreement, Telecom Egypt will offer international calls services through Etisalat Misr.
Telecom Egypt has also signed a five-year cooperation agreement to provide 2G, 3G, and 4G mobile services through national roaming over Etisalat Misr’s existing network.
Ahmed El Beheiry, Telecom Egypt’s chief executive officer, has signed the two agreements with Gamal El-Sadat, Etisalat Misr’s chief executive office.
Telecom Egypt was the first company to buy a 4G licence from the government in August for 7.08 billion pounds to enter the mobile market directly.
