Tesla to open office in Malaysia

Electric vehicle maker Tesla Inc. announced on Wednesday it would open an office in Malaysia and will establish a network of charging stations for the vehicles.

According to the Malaysian trade ministry, Malaysia has approved Tesla’s application to import battery-run EVs, and the company will open showrooms and services centres as well.

The ministry also said that the presence of the American company in Malaysia will create more job opportunities as well as increase the participation of local companies in the Tesla ecosystem.

The ministry did not specify when exactly will Tesla open its office, and according to Reuters the Elon Musk Company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
