Textiles exports to rise by 20 percent; Egypt’s trade minister says

Exports of Egyptian textiles sector are planned to be increased by 20 percent, trade minister Tarek Qabil announced Tuesday.

He made these remarks during inaugurating weaving, textile, dyeing, and knitwear sections at Vocational Training Centre at Shoubra El Kheima after being upgraded.

The centre was developed in cooperation with India that provided it with 17 new machines with total cost estimated at 4.2 million pounds.

Qabil added that Egypt’s current exports of textiles are estimated at US$3 billion per year.
