Tourism Transport Can’t Bear New Taxes: Maher Naseef

Maher Naseef, Head of Tourism Transport Committee, at Egyptian Travel Agents Association (ETAA), refused the new tax law announced by President Mohamed Morsi, which provides provide for imposing 10% tax on tourism transport.

Naseef has referred that the decision may influence 700 companies specialized in the tourism transport, emphasizing that the tourism transport has lost a lot since erupting the 25 Jan Revolution , its sector’s incomes declined by 60%.

He elaborated that imposing taxes on the tourism transport will lead to pushing the services’ prices up, as well as the diesel prices; consequently it will affect the tourism program during the tourism decline.

Naseef has affirmed that the tourism sector needs decreasing the sales taxes, which reach 45%.
