U.S. assigns additional $16.5mn to support Egypt’s education, agribusiness

The United States has allocated an additional $16.5 million to support joint US-Egypt priorities in basic education and agribusiness.

In a statement released on Sunday, the US Embassy in Cairo said the grant comes as part of two aid agreements signed between Washington and Cairo to back Egypt’s development efforts.

Under the two agreements, Egyptian young men will have access to quality education and Egyptian farmers get access to global markets.

In this regard, USAID Mission Director in Egypt Sherry Carlin said the two agreements on basic education and agribusiness reflect strong partnership with the Investment Ministry and the US continued commitment towards the Egyptian people.
