UAE’s Aldar, Diamond Developers to launch 1st sustainable city in Arabian Peninsula

UAE’s Aldar Properties and Diamond Developers will build the first sustainable city in the Arabian Peninsula that located in Yas island, as it will start work during the second quarter of the current year 2023 and expected to end in 2025.

The designers keen to achieve the principle of low emissions of greenhouse gases, through the use of a large network of wheels and cars that operate with electricity.

The green city will consist of a green belt along its area, and it will contain gardens, lakes, and greenhouses for the purpose of producing vegetables and achieving self-sufficiency within the community.

The new city will have various public facilities, including an equestrian centre, horse stables, a racing track, sports arenas, a gym, swimming pools, roads for riding a calf, running, playing football, basketball, and many other things.

In order to be an integrated community, the city will include shops selling all products, restaurants, nurseries, a centre for the care of children on the autism spectrum, and a green mosque that achieves the concept of sustainability.

The project is designed to support the family atmosphere, while the design is based on the most important features of Dubai, which make it an example of a sustainable city.

The green city will achieve the concept of a pedestrian city, by providing walking spaces along open green spaces, sidewalks, and agricultural plots for personal ownership.

Available for buyers of all nationalities, The Sustainable City – Yas Island will feature condominiums and townhouses located in 10 intimate clusters.

Jonathan Emery, CEO at Aldar Development said: “The Sustainable City – Yas Island is a landmark project for Aldar, reflecting our commitment to provide an increasingly diverse range of curated living experiences that our local and overseas customers tell us they want to live and invest in.”

“Cities need to create a path to Net-Zero emissions that considers city-specific features like building material, food production and mobility solutions,” Salah Habib, CEO at Diamond Developers said.
