US adds 3 Chinese firms to ‘Unverified List’, demanding additional export checks
The US Commerce Department on Tuesday added three Chinese companies to the “Unverified List,” a list of companies that US export control officials have been unable to inspect. This means that US exporters must conduct additional due diligence before sending items to these companies.
Companies are placed on the “Unverified List” when US officials cannot complete on-site visits to determine whether they can be trusted to receive US-origin technology and other goods. US inspections of Chinese companies require the approval of China’s commerce ministry.
