World Bank current portfolio with Egypt hits $8 billion

World Bank’s current portfolio for Egypt stands at US$8 billion, including $6 billion for government projects and $2 billion for public sector, according to the Ministry of International Cooperation statement released Sunday.

Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr received Sunday evening Asad Alam, World Bank’s Country Director for Egypt, Yemen and Djibouti. The two officials discussed bolstering cooperation between the ministry and the World Bank in the coming phase.

They also tackled preparations for Egypt’s participation in the upcoming annual meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, which will take place in Washington, DC, on 7-9 October, the statement added.
