YouTube TV prices hikes once again to $72.99/month

YouTube TV prices went up for the fourth time since its launch in 2017, increasing by 114 percent in the past six years, to be $72.99 per month for more than 100 channels, the service tweeted on Thursday.

The updated prices will be applied to new subscriptions immediately, but will applied to existing subscriptions starting from April 18, increasing the cost of the basic package.

“We are committed to offering a premium way for you to stream TV, but understand this new price may not work for you, we do hope YouTube TV continues to be your service of choice, but we want to give you the flexibility to cancel at any time,” said the service on Twitter.

The hike in prices comes after the rise in content costs, and the Alphabet-owned service’s efforts to invest in its quality of service, especially after it bought rights to NFL Sunday Ticket from DirecTV, which cost $2 billion per year.
