1,500 mosques involve in summer Quranic programmes for children – Egypt

1,500 mosques around Egypt will involve in a planning a summer Quranic programmes for children, the Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mukhtar Gomaa announced on Sunday. He said more than 2,000 imams, preachers and Koranic teachers, both men and women, will be involved in that plan.

“The summer programmes will start in early June and will continue for three months. The names of mosques participating in that programme will be announced soon.” Gomaa said.

Gomaa highlighted that the programs will enhance religious awareness and national values between school children.

“The opening of registration for boys and girls in Quran memorization centres in Egypt.” the Awqaf ministry announced. There 69 Quran memorization centres in Egypt, working under the supervision of the Awqaf ministry. Many of those who graduate from these centres are employed to teach Quran or are distributed to other countries to present Quranic programs.
