Update: Four Egyptian Ministers Quit Kandil’s Cabinet Over Protests

Egypt’s ministers of tourism, environment, communication and legal affairs tendered their resignations on Monday a day after massive protests against President Mohamed Morsi swept the country.

The four handed in their letters of resignation together to Egypt’s Premier Hesham Kandil.

It is worth mentioning that informed sources told “Amwal Al Ghad” that there is a secret meeting in the Smart Village includes 5 ministers who discuss submitting their resignations to Egypt’s Premier Hesham Kandil within hours; showing solidarity with the protests transpired yesterday.

The sources added that the ministers are Hesham Zazou- Minister of Tourism, Khaled Fahmy- Minister of Environment, Ahmed Soliman- Minister of Justice, Atef Helmy- Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Hatem Bagato, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs.

The meeting is completely secret, said the sources; referring that the ministers didn’t allow the media figures and journalists to attend the meeting.
